you may want to have a look at Stevil's getting started manual, if this documentation is not clear enough.

There is another very good tutorial by izzo9mm especially for people that have a navigation software v8 or above.

Video resolution has to be the same as the screen resolution of your Tomtom GPS.

For your information, TomTom ONE screen resolution is 320*240 while TomTom XL or TTGO screen resolution is 480*272.

To do that, you can use mencoder command line tool.

Here is my version of the “getting started” manual... hopefully it makes it easier for future users to get this working. I am using a TomTom with built in memory... so some of this might not be applicable, such as leaving configuration files at “mnt/sdcard/XXX” because that refers to internal memory.

Introduction

Please note: this is a guide for TomTom One XL version 8.010. It may work for other models / versions as well, but I haven’t tried. Some of the points below may need to be altered to suite your model.

By the way, don’t be daunted by the amount of instructions. It’s actually a quick and simple procedure, but looks long-winded because I’ve written a detailed step by step guide from a noob’s point of view (which I am myself!).
