Tomplayer V0.240b1

Hi,

I am very happy to announce the release of Tomplayer V0.240b1 : This version provides support for carminat Tomtom.
It is still a beta version which performs lots of log to be able to investigate (so it writes a lot on your sdcard : Don't use it for a very long time or you may reach the maximum writes...)

Here is the installation process :
You can download the archive here :[Removed] Obsolete => viewtopic.php?f=21&t=942
- Format SDcard to FAT32
- Copy distrib contents to root of the SD
- Put some video and audio in the correct folders
- fire it up

I am very grateful to all the great users for their many tests and feedbacks (in this thread : viewtopic.php?f=18&t=862)
I am very happy to develop this open source player when i meet such users...
Moreover, I would like to especially thank João Paulo Barraca who helped me a LOT to understand how to add support for carminat joystick.

There are still some open issues :
- No support for LIVE carminat (navcore v9.842)
- No clear status for bluetooth remote command (need feedback and test from these users)
- Some users are sticked on tomplayer splash screen for an unknown reason
- 2 users have reported spurious reboots (but we may have found the root cause of it... soon more info about it)

One question.

Up to now, it's a standalone version to use in a different SD?
As I read in the features proposal, you plan to integrate it with the navigator? ("- Press a button for a long time to switch between navigation and tomplayer")

Yes it is a standalone version ..
For the improvement
"- Press a button for a long time to switch between navigation and tomplayer"
it would become a kind of hybrid thing (not tha same as integrated version in fact : it is something specific to carminat) But i think i can do it quite easily in fact...

now i have audio! i had to insert a usbkey to hear the movie audio!!! why do i need a usbkey?
if i turn tomplayer off by pressing the last button in menu, it reboots.
how do i turn off tomplayer so i go back to tomtom replacing the sd?

feature request: can i resume the movie when i turn back on tomplayer? you could log movies playback each minute, so when i turn tomplayer on, it knows what file to payback and what timing.

What great news .

I have been leeching this forum on and off for about 1.5 years. When I got my new renault I hoped TomPlayer would work. At that point it was not yet supported I figured it might soon be supported. It took a bit longer but I am NOT complaining I am just happy that you guys arrived here at the first pubic beta. Really great.

As my wife took my car today I will start to test it only this evening

Not the place for this but this feature already exists : when you leave a music play ou audio play your current file/position are saved and can be restored ...

Thank you for your work and new challenges, such as live Carminat 2.0 is not supported.
I hope you will make is to solve this problem because tom is moving in this direction.
