removing old internal install

Any problem with TomPlayer ? you can ask here

removing old internal install

Postby Glen_S » 14 Apr 2010, 17:12

I put the tomplayer on my G0720 some time ago, and of course after a couple of navcore updates it stopped working. I just installed the new one in standalone version on my sd card, and it seems to work great, but I'd like to remove the old install so the icon on the 4th screen is no longer there.

Do I just delete the tomplayer folder? Do I also need to delete the SdkRegistry folder as well, or just remove the contents?

thanks!

ps. cool program and thanks for all the work gone into it!

Hi

Many thanks for your post
Can you tell me the navcore version that is incompatible ?
To remove the icon you just have to delete the 2 files provided by tomplayer in sdkregister folder
Then you can also safely remove tompleyr folder to free space on your memory card...

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear enough in my post, I want to remote the old install from the internal memory, not the SD card, I have the newest version on the SD card and it works great.

I am using navcore 8.351, but the internal install I put on has not worked since shortly after I installed it and updated the navcore way back when it was 7.xx I think. Anyway, having it on the standalone SD card is better I think.

One question I have though, is that I can't seem to get the FM transmitter part working, so I have to use the same radio frequency that I have the internal memory set to?

thanks again for the great product!

Ok, sorry for the misunderstanding
still my answer is the same to remove tomplayer from your internbal memory :
- delete the 2 files provided by tomplayer in sdkregister folder (from your internal memory)
- Remove tompleyr folder to free space from your internal memory if tomplayer folder was also copied in the internal memory ...

Anyway, you are right the standalone install is the safer and the easier way to install tomplayer
For the FM transmitter that's strange it should work according to the settings in tomplayer
Are you sure you have check the checkbox to activate FM transmitter in the options menu ?

Have a look at http://www.tomplayer.net/joomla/index.p ... emid=57#fm : at the top right corner of the screen you have to activate the option ...

ah, maybe I missed that, I will have to try it again. No biggie anyway, my deck as a front aux plug so I can just use that too..

All right, generally speaking i think that using the aux will give better quality than fm transmitter (at least on my tomtom this transmitter does not give great results...)
