Carminat TomTom

So i have just prepared a new image and some binaries to perform first tests.

Please follow the installation procedure :
Download official Tomplayer V0.230 (from here : http://sourceforge.net/projects/tomplayer/ )
- Extract the content of the distrib folder (the main folder in the ZIP archive) at the root of your external SD card. (you must have tomplayer folder at the root of your sdcard)
- Then download http://www.tomplayer.net/ttsystem_carminat , copy it at the root of your sdcard and rename it to "ttsystem" on the sdcard
EDIT : This ttsystem has been removed as tests have not been succesful : If you wanna experiment : keep your tomtom ttsystem and follow the instructions which i give in the following post ...
- Then download http://www.tomplayer.net/pack_carminat.zip extract its content in the tomplayer folder on your sdcard (it should replace 2 files and add a new one)

Cross your fingers and try to boot
It that works, the tomplayer IHM should usable with the remote :
-> right and left to move between widgets
-> ok button to select/validate
-> up and down to move in the file selector or to validate on(same as ok button ) on other widgets


It you manage to run mplayer then you will loose the interaction as i have not yet modfied the second part of the code (the one that interacts with mplayer)...

I have not been able to test yet so the first tries may be disappointing but i know we are very close to success...

Good news: it boots, shows the tomplayer splash, it shuts down gracefully.
Bad news: doesn't react to keys or joystick.

Is there any debug info we can log?

i should have forgotten something !
In fact i have tested the tomplayer gui driven by key inputs but i have not been able to check that i was able to redirect the can inputs correctly (well i know how to do now but i was not sure it was functional in my image...and it seems not to be...)

i would be interested by adding these lines in the script:
ps > /sdcard/ps.txt
ls /dev/input > /sdcard/inputs.xt


Anyway i hope to find whats wrong with my current image ...

Lets try another test ;

Do not use my own image ttsystem. (ttsystem_carminat)

Copy the files from http://www.tomplayer.net/pack_carminat.zip in tomplayer folder on the sdcard
Then replace tomplayergui.sh by this new script

and tell me whether it reacts to the remote as it should or not...

If no, i will post a new scripts and binaries tomorrow night to get traces ...

I will try it this afternoon as soon as I get home....

as far as i understnad, be should use a workig SD, copy the tomplayer, and replace files in tomplayer folder with this and the .sh also...

If you get the same result as i, please be sure you have the car manual nearby. Unless you already know what fuse you must remove to power off the carminat.
The previous version will turn off the carminat if you turn off the radio, this will be "frozen" at the tomplayer main screen.
Nothing else is different.

I added some more debug and the result is:

So, it seems like vehicledaemon is running, which means that the keys are reaching the carminat from the CAN bus. Only they are not captured by the carminat_inputs because the CswEvent0 fifo is not created.

Wolfgar: when you talk about the "remote", you mean a bluetooth remote control? My car has no remote control, only the "Central Switch" (joystick plus keys).
That could explain why i have no CswEvent0. The Central Switch provides events through CAN but i'm not sure if the remote works in the same way (as it is bluetooth).

don´t think it could happen, because he said NOT TO use is ttsystem..so I will be using a original 8.842 ttsystem without modification...so it´s more unlikely that the carminat could freeze by turning off radio...but thanks anyway...i´ll be aware off it just in case it happens...

Ups... sorry. I will try again.

EDIT:
The carminat doesn't freeze. Simply it seems that it doesn't poweroff as it should and remains presenting the tomplayer screen.
But as i was using the ttsystem_carminat, the result is not valid.

What about the remote vs central switch? What interface you have?

I tried wolfgar's last solution but it doesn't work

I only get the loading screen (with the hourglass) for a while and then black screen for a minute... then the loading screen again.

no response from the remote, and the blue led on it keeps blinking as it can't get the synchronization with the tomtom

Same in a car using the joystick (except that there is no blue led, because it doesn't exist).
Boots->hourglass->reboot.

I noticed that after applying wolfgar's solution, when I use the original Renault SD in my Carminat the information from the radio (such as RDS, frequency, volume) are not displayed any more, even when I change station or go into the radio menu...

is it just me or did it happen to someone else too?

Which solution have you tried?
The first one (with my own ttsystem ) or the second one ?

I have remove my own ttsystem yesterday after a similar feedback and i added the warning in my post ...
Please every one : Do not use my own ttsystem even if you have downloaded it before removal as long as we have not been sure for the cause of this problem...
